Our Story

A garage in London. A lifeline to Ukraine.

HelplessPaw began as neighbours helping neighbours - and grew into a bridge that thousands of British donors now walk across every month.

How it began

When the full-scale invasion began, Ukrainian families arriving in London carried the same question: "My mother is still there. My brother is still there. How do I get help to them?" Our founders started with a borrowed garage, a spreadsheet and a van. The first collection filled the van in four days. Within a year, the garage had become a warehouse, the spreadsheet a logistics system, and the van a small fleet of volunteer-driven convoys.

What we do, and how we do it

We ask, then we send

Our Ukrainian partner coordinators send named requests - a clinic's exact medicine list, a village's count of broken windows. We fund and ship against those lists, never guesswork.

We buy locally where we can

Food, building materials and many supplies are bought inside Ukraine, cutting transport costs and supporting the local economy at the same time.

We publish everything

Every appeal has a target, a running total and a closing report. Our accounts, convoy logs and receipts are available on request.
