The story
This fundraiser was created to give older shelter dogs a real chance of being adopted. Senior dogs are often overlooked, partly because adopters fear the vet bills that can come with old age.
The idea was simple: if we helped cover the cost of their care, more families would be willing to give an old dog a home.
What happened
Supporters responded generously and the fundraiser reached more than ninety percent of its target. The money paid for check-ups, dental treatment, blood tests and long-term medication for senior dogs going to new families. Many dogs who had spent years in the shelter were finally able to leave it.
