The story
The Voriskov shelter has never turned away a dog in need, and that is exactly why it is running out of room. Every kennel is full, there is a waiting list of dogs that urgently need a place, and the volunteers who walk the dogs every day have nowhere safe to let them run off the lead.
A neighbouring plot of land has become available. Buying it would change everything for the shelter.
What the land would make possible
First, a fenced exercise area where dogs can run, play and simply be dogs. For dogs who spend much of their day in a kennel, an hour of free movement is not a luxury. It is essential for their physical and mental health, and it makes them calmer and easier to adopt.
Second, room to grow. The plot would allow the shelter to build new kennels and a quarantine area, so it can take in more dogs and keep newcomers separate until they have been checked by a vet.
How you can help
Buying the land is the biggest step the shelter has ever taken, and it cannot do it without supporters. Your donation goes directly towards the purchase and the first fencing work. Thank you for helping give these dogs space to heal.
